James Corden called this rapper the worst Late Late Show guest of all time
James Corden is not Mr. Popularity. He was among the most disliked late night hosts of the 21st century, due to his alleged ego behavior behind-the-scenes. That said, Corden put a lot of effort into The Late Late Show.
Corden sang and danced, he performed sketches out in public, and tried to get the best reactions out of his guests. During a 2019 episode, however, the host opened up about his worst experience with a guest. He told Demi Moore that he struggled mightily to pull off an episode with Rick Ross, due to the rapper's bizarre and unpredictable behavior.
Rick Ross reportedly bailed on a comedy sketch
Corden had reportedly planned a sketch based around Rick Ross' song "Hustlin," and was told that the rapper would love to participate. When Ross showed up, though, participation proved a lot more difficult than Corden anticipated. He recalled rehearsing the sketch in front of Ross, who then said that he needed to go to the restroom. That was the last time Corden saw him.
"Rick goes, 'Cool, I'm just going to go to the restroom,'" Corden recalled. "About 20 minutes later, we just stood there and he hadn't come back. Then his management person came back and went, 'Yeah, Rick's not going to do that.'"
Corden recalls being 'disappointed' by Ross' decision
Corden and Demi Moore laughed about the situation, but the former admitted that he was very upset at the time. He felt that Rick Ross had pulled out of something that had taken a lot of time and money to set up:
"I have to say, now that I've said it out loud, I see his point. It does sound like a terrible idea. But I was very disappointed at the time."
Rick Ross does not have a historically smooth relationship with talk shows. The rapper performed on Late Night with Seth Meyers back in 2022, and proceeded to mess up the lyrics to his song "Nobody." He fumbled over his words around three minutes into the performance, at which point the backing vocals for the song could be heard playing.
Maybe Rozay should stick to rapping, and leave the TV stuff to his peers.
