If you’re looking for more Jimmy Fallon in your life, NBC certainly has you covered this holiday season. One of those is with a new holiday special of Password, the guessing game that features celebrity guests and civilian contestants.
Password season 3 is officially happening, but this isn’t part of that third season. This is purely a holiday special that will bring plenty of festivity and laughs.
Who is the Password celebrity for the holiday special?
There aren’t too many details known about the special just yet. What we do know is that Jonathan Groff will be part of the special, bringing laughter and cheer to the episode.
As with other episodes, he’ll team up with a civilian teammate, and they’ll compete against The Tonight Show's host and another civilian contestant. Working in pairs, they’ll need to guess a mystery password if they want to win. There are certainly a few wild moments in the episodes, as two strangers need to figure out the way each of their minds work!
We’re sure to see the different passwords have some sort of link to the holiday season. Let’s just hope everyone can keep it all clean!
When will the Password 2025 holiday special air on NBC?

Password season 3 is in the works
Back in the summer, Password was renewed for a third season. That’s slated to arrive in 2026, although no date is set just yet. The problem with this series is that, like That’s My Jam, Fallon is a busy man. That means a lot of projects on the go, and there’s the need to schedule filming around each one of them.
That’s My Jam season 3 was slated to arrive in 2025, but it was delayed, and there is still no word on when that will happen. It could mean that Password season 3 is pushed back. While production had started back in August, it’s possible that it was just for the holiday special. Fans have already had to wait since March 2024 for a new season, so let’s hope that there isn’t too much more of a delay!
