Late-night television fans struggled through last week as one of the most popular hosts went off the air and another was nowhere to be found. But after a week of reruns, Late Night with Seth Meyers is finally returning with new episodes beginning Monday, June 1.
The NBC late-night series took last week off at a particularly notable moment, arriving immediately after the finale of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. With one of television's most prominent political critics leaving the air and Meyers temporarily absent, fans were left with a noticeable shortage of topical late-night commentary.
That should change this week. When Meyers returns to Studio 8G on Monday night, he'll have no shortage of headlines to cover. Among the stories likely to find their way into his opening monologue or "A Closer Look" segment are President Donald Trump's decision to cancel a planned concert celebrating America's 250th anniversary after several performers reportedly dropped out, the latest developments from Trump's cabinet meeting, and ongoing developments surrounding the war in Iran.
Especially with Colbert no long an option, more late-night fans will look to Meyers for commentary and comedy about the day's headlines. He'll have his work cut out for him after a week away, but the Late Show host usually shines when he has to break down a week's worth of news into a singular late-night segment.
The show also has a strong lineup of guests scheduled throughout the week. Monday's episode features actor and comedian Brett Goldstein alongside bestselling author David Sedaris. Goldstein recently wrapped the fourth season of Ted Lasso and stars opposite Jennifer Lopez in the rom-com Office Romance coming to Netflix. Sedaris arrives to talk about his new book, The Land and Its People: Essays.
On Tuesday, Meyers welcomes actress Anna Faris, singer P!NK, and acclaimed novelist Ann Patchett. Faris has several films coming out in 2026, starting with Scary Movie in June. P!NK should discuss her upcoming stadium tour, as well as how she's used her performances to raise money for cancer research. Patchett will talk about her new novel, Whistler.
Wednesday's episode brings former Saturday Night Live star Will Forte and actress Alison Brie. Forte is back for season two of The Four Seasons on Netflix. Meanwhile, Brie should promote her role in Masters of the Universe.
Thursday's show features actor Paul Rudd and tennis legend Rafael Nadal. Rudd is expected to discuss his upcoming film, Power Ballad. Nadal will discuss the Netflix documentary about his life and career, titled Nadal, and is directed by Meyers' brother-in-law, Zach Heinzerling.
Friday's broadcast will be a repeat featuring Tiffany Haddish and Josh Groban, originally airing on May 12.
Late Night with Seth Meyers airst at 12:35 a.m. ET on NBC.
