Christmas week is here, and you know what that means. It’s time to get the last minute shopping done and prepare for the guests to drop by with gifts. There isn’t much time for late night shows, so it’s not surprising to see Late Night with Seth Meyers on a break.
It’s not the only late night show taking a break this week. In fact, the late night shows are now on their winter breaks until 2026, but that doesn’t mean we’re completely devoid of the fun! There are some reruns to look forward to.
Why isn’t Late Night with Seth Meyers on this week?
Like CBS and ABC, NBC has opted to put both of its late night shows on a break. Late Night with Seth Meyers aired its last 2025 episode on Thursday, Dec. 18, and it’s what we expected. This is the time of year that the linear ratings take a dip, because people aren’t watching TV!
On top of that, the cast and crew want to spend time with their families. It’s not even like there would be many interviews even if the shows were on the air. Celebrities want to spend this time with their families, too.
So, Late Night is on its winter break, and it will remain that way until at least Monday, Jan. 5. While NBC hasn’t fully confirmed the return date, that’s the one we expect for all the shows. It’s when The Daily Show returns on Comedy Central, so it’s when the broadcast networks will want their shows back.
Late Night schedule for Christmas week
While there are no new episodes, there will be some reruns. Of course, you can watch Late Night with Seth Meyers whenever you want on Peacock or via the official YouTube channel. All the interviews are put up there! But, reruns are a great way to see specific episodes that you’ve skipped over or that you want to watch again.

Yes, the Christmas Day rerun is that of the Thanksgiving special. Every year, Meyers gets his family onto the series to interview them as a way to work and spend time with his family for Thanksgiving.
There is nothing set for Friday, Dec. 26 just yet. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for changes.
