As someone who loves talk shows and regularly writes about them, even I have to admit that their celebrity interviews can be pretty unremarkable sometimes. After all, it often feels like famous people are too worried about saying anything that could get them in any trouble when they appear on talk shows. As a result, it was incredibly refreshing to see Kate Beckinsale's November 2025 Jimmy Kimmel Live! performance since she felt so forthright.
While I think that Beckinsale deserves to be celebrated for being true to herself, her truth at that seemingly moment was that she wanted to tell a truly strange story. As a Nov. 25, 2025 video from Jimmy Kimmel Live!'s YouTube video shows, Beckinsale told a story about her daughter's boyfriend supposedly laying two eggs.
Beckinsale's strange story starts being told at roughly the four-minute mark of the aforementioned video. While telling her tale, Beckinsale claimed that two eggs with shells and yolks came out of her daughter's boyfriend's body, one at a time in two separate events. The famous actor also described how, upon laying his first egg, her daughter's boyfriend reacted in fear.
"So the first time it happened, he was genuinely scared. And, you know, he was like, ‘It's got a full shell, it's got a yolk.’ And, you know… It's the size of a bird… He crushed it to see what was inside. A yolk was inside. Like a hard-boiled one, too. So it kind of cooked inside him."
As she continued to tell her truly odd story, Beckinsale claimed that the second egg was laid when her daughter and her boyfriend were traveling on a plane. She also told Kimmel about an inappropriate theory she had for how the eggs were being laid. If everything else she said wasn't remarkable enough, Beckinsale explained that she'd consulted with a series of doctors to try to get answers for what was going on.
Finally, Beckinsale added some icing on the cake of her bizarre story by pulling out her phone. After talking to Kimmel about the egg situation for several minutes, Beckinsale offered to show the host and his sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, a photo of one of the eggs. While the image wasn't shown to the camera because Beckinsale labeled it "a little bit gross," seeing Kimmel and Rodriguez's shocked reactions to the image is fascinating.
