Jimmy Kimmel puts Guillermo through the DOGE test

Much was made about the Department of Government Efficiency email that went out asking federal employees to justify their jobs by listing five accomplishments. Jimmy Kimmel decided to adopt this controversial performance review and apply it to Guillermo.

Like the rest of late-night TV, Kimmel spent the week mocking Elon Musk's email and threat to fire federal employees who failed to respond. Things weren't made any better by President Donald Trump's comments calling a response "somewhat voluntary" and that failure to answer could result in getting "fired or semi-fired."

So on Thursday night, Kimmel decided to test the system for himself. He asked Guillermo to compile a list of everything he'd done that week. And the late-night TV sideckick did not disappoint.

1. Drink tequila

As Jimmy Kimmel noted, this one could have been all five entries on the list. Guillermo's love of tequila is no mystery, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been using it as a bit for years.

It sounds as if Guillermo has a drink before every show, and a few extra if there's a special guest around. Expect him to have a fresh bottle for the Oscars on Sunday.

2. Oscars credentials

Speaking of the Oscars, Guillermo is on top of things this week. He told Kimmel he got his press credentials for the event, so he'll be ready to go.

Kimmel already gave host Conan O'Brien some sage advice on hosting the Academy Awards. But he'll still have his security guard on the ground interviewing celebrities and passing around shots.

3. Tux fitting

Guillermo will be looking his best on Sunday night. His week of accomplishments included getting measured for a tuxedo ahead of the Oscars.

If he keeps up with tradition, Guillermo will be decked out in a gold tuxedo to match the statue handed out to winners.

4. Do Jimmy Kimmel Live

It took until the fourth entry on the list, but Guillermo eventually named his day job as an accomplishment. Night after night, he's there just to Kimmel's right, ready to chime in whenever called upon.

5. Write the list

"Write this stupid list" was the actual quote from Guillermo. Credit to him for doing 99% of what Jimmy Kimmel Live! asks him to do, including writing a list inspired by the braintrust at the Department of Government Effeciency.

6. Take pictures with the audience

What better way to prove your value as an employee than go above and beyond what's required? That's exactly what Guillermo did by including a sixth accomplishment on his list.

It may have backfired on him, though. Kimmel nailed him down to taking pictures with all 200 members of the studio audience after the show. No word on if failure to do so resulted in Guillermo getting "semi-fired."
