2025 is here, and the new year is starting off with some major political stories. It's the kind of stuff Real Time with Bill Maher loves to get into. So what should fans expect to see tonight on HBO?
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has his job secured, Donald Trump has a sentencing date, and Elon Musk has a growing interest in European politics. These topics and more would make for interesting material in Bill Maher's monologue or a Real Time panel discussion.
Unfortunately, we won't get to hear anything like that on Friday night. There will not be a new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher tonight.
Maher and his team are still on hiatus between seasons. But the good news is that we won't have to wait long to see the comedian back on HBO.
BIll Maher has a stand-up special and new season of Real Time on the way
If you can't get enough Bill Maher, then January is your month. The comedian has a stand-up special debuting on HBO, and the new season of Real Time also kicks off this month.
Bill Maher: Is Anyone Else Seeing This? will premiere on HBO on Friday, January 10. It takes over the normal Real Time timeslot at 10:00 p.m. ET. The special is the 13th for Maher on HBO.
Then, Real Time with Bill Maher starts season 23 on January 17. The guest list has yet to be announced, but the episode will likely serve as Maher's preview of Trump's second term in office.
Of course, Maher followers can still keep up with the comedian's thoughts outside of television. Maher's podcast, Club Random, continues to drop new episodes.
Things are always more entertaining with Maher's commentary at the end of the week. Thankfully, it won't be too long before he can jump back in the conversation.
