Late-night TV got back into the swing of things this week. But one show is still missing in 2025: Real Time with Bill Maher.

The HBO late-night TV show has been off the air since season 22 ended in November. So with the calendar turned to January and a string of important events coming up, fans are eager to hear from veteran late-night host Bill Maher.

Unfortunately, they won't get their wish on January 10. There will not be a new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher tonight.

However, those who love to hear Maher's take on the world are in luck. HBO will debut the comedian's new stand-up special, Is Anyone Else Seeing This?

Maher's 13th comedy special for HBO airs at 10:00 p.m. ET with an encore presentation set for 11:10 p.m. HBO describes the special as Maher's "scathing commentary on the hypocrisies of both conservative and liberal politics, as well as trends in modern parenting, sex and dating, and religion."

When does Real Time with Bill Maher return?

The good news is that we won't have to wait long for Bill Maher to get back to his day job. Real Time with Bill Maher has its season 23 premiere on the schedule.

The new season begins on Friday, January 17. A promo for the new season promised that Maher won't back down from his signature style of comedy and commentary.

The promo also highlighted the diverse group of guests that regularly visit Real Time. No other late-night TV show welcomes the kinds of guests Bill Maher chats with. That typically leads to both sides getting upset with Maher, but the comedian wouldn't have it any other way.

Real Time with Bill Maher is available on both HBO and Max.
