Real Time with Bill Maher was off the air last week, leaving fans without Bill Maher's take on the week's news. So what should they expect to see on HBO tonight?
Last Monday was a holiday, so Real Time with Bill Maher joined other late-night TV shows by taking the week off. It was a well-deserved breather for Maher and his team after a hot start to season 23.
But the good news is that the HBO late-night TV show will be back to work on Friday. There will be a brand new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher tonight.
And as always, there is no shortage of topics for Maher to cover in his monologue. Elon Musk continues to ruffle feathers with DOGE, President Donald Trump clashed with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the Oscars are this Sunday if Maher wants to go pop culture.
Who is on Real Time with Bill Maher tonight?
One topic we know Bill Maher will want to discuss tonight is the relationship between the United States and Canada. Things haven't been great under Trump's second term as the president continues to tease annexing Canada while imposing tarrifs.
Maher will interview Canadian politician Chrystia Freeland at the top of tonight's show. She's been in office since 2015 and before that, worked as a journalist. Freeland can provide the Canadian perspective on things and where the country stands in relation to the U.S.
Journalist Fareed Zakaria is on the panel tonight. He hosts CNN's Fareed Zakaria GPS, and his most recent book is Age of Revolutions: Progress and Backlash from 1600 to the Present.
Politician Rahm Emanuel is also on the panel. The former chief of staff to President Barack Obama, Emanuel most recently served as U.S. ambassador to Japan.
Real Time with Bill Maher airs tonight, February 28, at 10:00 p.m. ET on HBO and streams on Max.
