It’s a bit hard to believe, but Hilary Duff will finally make her debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight. The actor and pop star is set to visit Jimmy Fallon’s late-night show for the first time, where she’ll chat about her new music, upcoming tour, and even take the stage for a performance.
Considering Duff’s decades-long career and her frequent stops across the late-night landscape, her absence from Fallon’s Tonight Show until now is somewhat surprising. Since Fallon took over the NBC franchise in 2014, the show has become known for its musical segments, celebrity games, and upbeat interviews. In other words, exactly the kind of environment where Duff’s personality seems like a natural fit.
Duff rose to prominence in the early 2000s through acting and music, and she has remained a steady presence in pop culture ever since. More recently, she’s made appearances on a wide variety of late-night programs. She’s visited Late Night with Seth Meyers, appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden during Corden’s run on CBS.
Prior to that, she sat down for conversations and gave performances on the late-night TV show's that dominated the genre in the early 2000s. Her late-night resume also includes appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Before Fallon inherited NBC’s iconic desk, Duff also dropped by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and earlier in her career, she sat down with David Letterman on The Late Show with David Letterman. She even appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, adding another legendary late-night host to her list.
That makes tonight’s appearance feel like something of a long-overdue crossover. Fallon’s show thrives on playful interviews and viral-friendly segments, so Duff should feel right at home. Both Fallon and Duff also share an approachable, upbeat energy that tends to translate well on camera. It’s easy to imagine the two leaning into a lighthearted conversation or even a game segment before Duff takes the stage to perform.
The visit also comes at a busy moment for Duff. She’s currently promoting her new album, Luck... Or Something, and preparing for an upcoming tour, giving her plenty to discuss during the interview portion of the show. Fans will also get to see her perform, perhaps dropping a live version of her song "Tennis Weather" off the 2026 album.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC. The show is also available to stream on Peacock.
