Since Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show, his jokes about Donald Trump and a slew of other topics have further cemented his legacy as the talk show's most notable host. When Stewart leaves The Daily Show again, he will find himself having to figure out what the next chapter of his career will be.
At that point, Stewart may want to consider what another one of that show's former stars has been up to, as Trevor Noah now prepares to leave another hosting gig he enjoyed great success in.
Trevor Noah is preparing to host The Grammy Awards for the 6th and last time
Between 2015 and 2022, Trevor Noah hosted hundreds of episodes of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Since starring in that information-dense talk show would be a very taxing job for anyone, it certainly seems like Noah could have focused on that alone. However, Noah took on another job in 2021 when he hosted the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
Since Noah first became a Grammys host, he has led the annual awards show ever year since. In January 2026, a report from The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that he will continue in that role as Noah is poised to host the Grammys for the sixth time in a row. However, it has been announced that Noah will host the Grammys for the last time in 2026. The outlet quoted a statement from the Grammys executive producer Ben Winston on Noah leading the awards show one more time.
“I am beyond thrilled to welcome Trevor Noah back to host the Grammys for his sixth, and sadly, final time. He’s been the most phenomenal host of the show. He’s so smart, so funny, and such a true fan of the artists and music. His impact on the show has been truly spectacular, and we can’t wait to do it together one last time.”
The Hollywood Reporter's article also stated that the 2026 Grammy Awards will mark the end of an era in another way. For decades, the Grammys aired exclusively on CBS. However, after Noah's final time hosting, the awards show will find a new home that will allow it to be watched on network TV and one of the major streaming services. Disney made a deal to bring the Grammy Awards to ABC and Disney+ annually between 2027 and 2036.
Unfortunately for Disney, the numbers show that getting the rights to air the Grammy Awards isn't as valuable as it once was. A February 2025 Variety article revealed that the ratings for the Grammys dropped by 9% that year from the number of viewers it received in 2024.
On the bright side, the Grammys were watched by 15.4 million viewers in 2025, and the drop from 2024 wasn't as simple as it seems. That is the case because the 2024 Grammy Awards enjoyed a 34% increase in viewers from the 2023 numbers. That means the 2025 Grammys were viewed by more people than 2023's version of the annual awards show.
