Former late-night host joins Fred Armisen for Hulu's Deli Boys season 2

Former late-night television host Lily Singh is heading back to television. this time in a scripted comedy role. The A Little Late with Lily Singh alum is set to guest star in season 2 of Hulu’s Deli Boys, joining a growing cast that already includes Fred Armisen.

Deli Boys centers on Mir and Raj Dar (Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh), two privileged Pakistani American brothers whose lives are upended after they discover their father led a secret life of crime. Forced to confront their family’s hidden past, the brothers attempt to step into the underworld themselves with predictably disastrous and comedic results.

Singh will portray Aisha, the wife of Maalik Ali (played by Shahjehan Khan), who becomes fixated on Raj. Her character is expected to add a new layer of chaos and tension to the offbeat comedy.

Singh rose to prominence as a YouTuber before hosting A Little Late with Lily Singh on NBC, which ran from 2019 to 2021. As one of the few women to host a network late-night show, Singh brought a mix of celebrity interviews, sketches and social commentary to the format. Despite its historic significance, the series struggled in the ratings and concluded after two seasons.

Since departing late-night, Singh has remained active across film, television and digital platforms. She has appeared in projects such as The Muppets Mayhem, Bad Trip alongside Eric André, lent her voice to animated films like The Bad Guys, and continued to build her presence as a content creator and author.

She also hosts the podcast Shame Less, described as "bold conversations with South Asia’s most influential voices." Singh is also set to star in Lilly Singh’s Proud Princess as a young girl discovering her identity.

Singh’s casting marks another high-profile addition to season 2. Back in August, former Saturday Night Liv star Fred Armisen signed on to play Max Sugar, a legendary gambler. The character is described as both a genius and dangerously unpredictable, presiding over an international casino empire.

Deli Boys also cast frequent late-night TV guests Andrew Rannells and Kumail Nanjiani in recurring roles. Nanjiani will play Armisen's defense lawyer, while Rannells portrays an ambitious district attorney. Plus, Robin Thede will join Singh as a guest star as a couples therapist.

Fans eager to see Lily Singh back on television and enjoy a new Fred Armisen character don't have to wait long. Deli Boys season 2 will arive on Hulu on May 28.
