As broadcast shows look to take a break during the Winter Olympics, our eyes are on the late night shows. Jimmy Kimmel Live! hasn’t been overly upfront about the break it will take, but thanks to the ticket lottery system, we have an idea of the plan.

It’s possible to get tickets for Jimmy Kimmel Live! as well as other late night shows via a lottery system. You can select the dates, and while you won’t know who will appear on those nights, it’s at least a way to see if there will be some upcoming episodes. That’s what we’re looking at when it comes to the Winter Olympics hiatus.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! will take a week off in February

It turns out that there is a break, but not for the entire two weeks that the Winter Olympics will air. The show is only going on a one-week break, and it’s possible that the series isn’t really taking a break due to the Winter Olympics. This is just likely a scheduling thing to make sure there are enough live episodes to get through to May, when finales traditionally air.

According to 1 iota, the ticketing site, there will be episodes during the first week of the Winter Olympics. The show will then go dark between Monday, Feb. 16 and Thursday, Feb. 19. Friday isn’t included in the ticketing because there are no episodes that air on Fridays. That night is reserved for reruns now.

The show will then return on Monday, Feb. 23, with a usual full week of new episodes.

Of course, schedules are subject to change, but this is the plan for now.

Will there be another break in the Jimmy Kimmel Live! schedule?

We know from The Late Show tickets that there will be another break in March 2026. So, what about Jimmy Kimmel Live!? After all, the two shows tend to follow a similar schedule.

The ticket sales don’t go past Thursday, Feb. 26 at this point, so it’s hard to say. There usually is a week off in March, around March Madness, and again, it’s more to help with the scheduling of the new episodes. However, we’ll need to wait for the next month to be made available.

As for this week, there are still plenty of new episodes to air. We have two weeks packed with episodes, before the week off as the Olympics comes to an end.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
