Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, December 11?
By Matt Moore
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was forced to take another unplanned hiatus recently. So what should late-night TV fans expect to see tonight on CBS?
It all started after the Thanksgiving holiday break. Stephen Colbert announced he underwent surgery for a ruptured appendix. The procedure forced him to cancel a week of Late Show episodes. That turned into two weeks after doctors advised Colbert to continue resting.
But now there is good news to report. There will be a brand new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.
Expect Colbert’s monologue to cover his medical emergency and recovery with his typical sense of humor. From there, he’ll have to play catch up on the stories he missed including another GOP debate, the latest in Donald Trump’s trials, and more.
Who is on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight, December 11?
The Late Show has a top-tier guest lineup for Stephen Colbert’s return. Tonight’s episode should get a lot of attention for multiple reasons.
First up, Colbert will interview Liz Cheney. The former congresswoman is out promoting her new book, Oath and Honor. Colbert loves talking Trump, so anticipate him questioning Cheney about the former president, the current state of the Republican Party, and the 2024 election.
Then, Olivia Rodrigo joins The Late Show. The pop superstar is coming off her performance on Saturday Night Live. Rodrigo should bring an extra set of viewers to tonight’s Late Show.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs tonight, December 11, at 11:35 p.m. ET. The show also streams on Paramount+.
