Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, November 29?
By Matt Moore
Do you feel like something has been missing this week? It could be the absence of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. But what should fans expect to see tonight on CBS?
The week started off with consecutive reruns of The Late Show. Given the Thanksgiving holiday the week prior, it stood to reason that perhaps Stephen Colbert and company were just taking a few extra days to recharge.
Unfortunately, that isn’t the case when it comes to new episodes this week. There will not be a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.
Colbert remains sidelined following a ruptured appendix. The late-night TV host announced the news over the weekend. Based on the recommendations of his doctors, he’s taking the week off to recover from surgery. An exact return date hasn’t been specified by the network or the host.
So instead, CBS will reair the November 21 episode tonight. Tune in to revisit appearances by Bradley Cooper and José Andrés.
What to watch instead of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight, November 29
It would be considered a quiet time in late-night TV right now even without Stephen Colbert’s medical emergency. However, there are a few options for new content on Wednesday night.
At 11:00 p.m. ET, Comedy Central delivers a brand new episode of The Daily Show. Comedian Michelle Wolf continues to guest host. She’ll chat with Mehdi Hasan tonight.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! returns tonight with a new show, too. Eddie Murphy, Teyana Taylor, and Mitch Rowland are slated to appear. The show starts at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers are off tonight. But both shows plan to return on Monday.
