We’ve reached the final weekend of October. So should Saturday Night Live fans expect to see a brand new episode tonight on NBC?

Saturday Night Live season 49 kicked off back on October 14, then came around again for a new episode last week. The show hasn’t shown any rust after an extended break, but it’s still searching for a breakout sketch.

We’ll see what SNL has in store for audiences on Saturday. There will be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Comedian Nate Bargatze will host for the first time tonight. He’ll be joined by the Foo Fighters, making their ninth appearance as a musical guest.

What to watch for on Saturday Night Live tonight, October 28

Nate Bargatze isn’t exactly a giant name, especially compared to previous season 49 hosts Pete Davidson and Bad Bunny. However, that’s not exactly a bad thing.

Bargatze has a chance to surprise audiences unfamiliar with his stand-up routine. He’s been active for over 20 years, and for good reason. Look for Bargatze to come out with some of his best material in the monologue to win over the crowd early.

It’s also the Saturday Night Live Halloween episode tonight. SNL is always near the top of its game when it comes to holiday sketches, especially Halloween.

Cameos are also common during the Halloween episode. Already in season 49, seven special guests have appeared including John Mulaney, Mick Jagger, and Travis Kelce. Last year’s Halloween special welcomed back Tom Hanks and Bobby Moynihan. Fred Armisen, Nicholas Braun, Oscar Isaac, and Emily Ratajkowski popped up the year before. And 2020 saw Jim Carrey and Maya Rudolph join the show.

It would make sense for SNL to invite some other special guests for the 2023 Halloween episode. Doing so would give Bargatze a boost and take off some pressure.

Saturday Night Live airs tonight, October 28, at 11:30 p.m. et on NBC. It also streams live on Peacock.
