Jimmy Kimmel interviews ‘George Santos’ following criminal charges
By Matt Moore
Jimmy Kimmel took aim at New York Representative George Santos on Wednesday night. The late-night TV host even had his own version of the embattled congressman on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for an interview.
Santos already has a dicey reputation after it was revealed he lied about his education, work experience, and more leading up to his election to Congress. Despite the criticism, Santos refused to resign and continues to make headlines.
On October 10, Santos was charged with conspiracy, wire fraud, false statements, falsification of records, aggravated identity theft, and credit card fraud. Santos allegedly made unauthorized charges on the credit cards of donors.
Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue made sure to give the George Santos story the attention it deserved. Kimmel mocked Santos’ response when confronted by reporters. The comedian took things a step further when he welcomed George Santos to Jimmy Kimmel Live! for an interview.

Jimmy Kimmel welcomed George Santos to the show on Wednesday night. The late-night TV show’s version of Santos was played by Nelson Franklin, an actor known for his work on Veep, New Girl, and The Millers.
Kimmel’s version of Santos was in the middle of getting a fake ID made when the late-night host checked in with him. Santos denied Kimmel’s accusation that he’d flee the country, arguing that he’s innocent of all charges against him.
Things go from bad to worse when Kimmel’s interview reveals Santos is involved in a drug deal. It then becomes a parody of Santos running away from reporters as Kimmel peppers him with questions about identity theft.
Nelson Franklin gives an entertaining performance as George Santos. It’s not quite at the level of James Adomian as MyPillow’s Mike Lindell, but hopefully we’ll see more of Franklin in the future. Given the way Santos is making headlines, Jimmy Kimmel Live! should keep the actor on standby.
