Saturday Night Live came out of the writers’ strike with a new deal for its staff just in time for a new season. So what should SNL fans expect to see tonight on NBC?

The Writers Guild of America finally received an acceptable offer, getting thousands of Hollywood writers back to work. Late-night TV show returned this week and Saturday Night Live is right on their heels.

Unfortunately, SNL season 49 won’t start on Saturday. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Instead, NBC will reair the December 10, 2022 episode during SNL’s timeslot. Celebrate the season finale of Only Murders in the Building and Tune in to revisit Steve Martin and Martin Short co-host. The episode earned the highest ratings of season 48, and Conan O’Brien called the monologue the best in SNL history.

When does Saturday Night Live return?

With the WGA getting back to work and late-night TV shows like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Late Night with Seth Meyers returning with new episodes, fans have questioned when Saturday Night Live will return.

The sketch show announced the season 49 premiere will be live on Saturday, October 14. Former SNL cast member Pete Davidson will be back in Studio 8H to host for the first time. He’ll be joined by musical guest Ice Spice.

Another new episode is on the schedule for October 21. Rapper Bad Bunny will pull double duty as both the host and musical guest.

And when Saturday Night Live does return, the cast will look largely the same. Comedian Chloe Troast is the only new addition while the rest of the cast from last season returns.
