Real Time with Bill Maher finally made it back to air last week following the writers’ strike and a false start. So what should late-night TV fans expect to see tonight on HBO?

Despite Maher’s plans to the contraryReal Time didn’t return to the air until the Writers Guild of America approved a new contract and ended its strike. Maher came back with a splash, interviewing presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis and arguing that President Joe Biden is too old for a second term.

The good news is that interested fans can expect to hear more hot takes on Friday. There will be a brand new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher tonight.

Maher’s monologue will likely address former president Donald Trump appearing in court yet again. The end of Representative Kevin McCarthy’s tenure as Speaker of the House should also be on the table.

Who’s on Real Time with Bill Maher tonight?

First up, Bill Maher will interview Keegan Michael Key and Elle Key. The husband and wife team are promoting their new book, The History of Sketch Comedy: A Journey through the Art and Craft of Humor. Maher’s career is in stand-up comedy, not sketch; but he could still ask Key and Key their thoughts on the current state of comedy in the era of heightened political correctness.

Then, it’s time for the Real Time with Bill Maher panel. Both guests have been on the show before and should be familiar to fans.

Sarah Isgur makes her third Real Time appearance. She served as a Department of Justice spokesperson under President Donald Trump. Isgur currently works as an editor for the conservative outlet The Dispatch.

Matt Welch has made over a dozen visits to Bill Maher’s show. The blogger and journalist is the editor at large for the libertarian journal Reason and co-hosts the podcast The Fifth Column.

Real Time with Bill Maher airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on HBO.
