Jimmy Kimmel Live! hasn’t been on the air since April. But with the writers’ strike over, what should fans expect to see tonight on ABC?

Jimmy Kimmel stayed busy during the Writers Guild of America strike, vacationing and occasionally sharing some entertaining Photoshops on Instagram. He also did what he could to support writers by co-hosting the Strike Force Five podcast.

But now, he can get back to doing what he does best. There will be a brand new episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight.

Kimmel and his fellow late-night TV hosts all announced plans to return on the same day. And they couldn’t have picked a better night to restart.

What to expect from Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight

Jimmy Kimmel Live! comes back on the air the same day that former president Donald Trump appeared in a New York courtroom. Kimmel will definitely have a lot to say about Trump’s look and the former president’s rants outside the courtroom.

There’s also the clashing personalities in Congress still trying to figure out the government shutdown. Representatives Kevin McCarthy and Matt Gaetz have been Kimmel’s targets in the past, so he may go back to the well tonight.

Kimmel and his writers also have to choose how far into the past few months they want to reach for material. A lot happened that deserved attention from comedians like Kimmel. But nothing more than a quick recap may be the way to go.

Tonight’s first guest will be Arnold Schwarzenegger. The action star and former governor of California will be on to discuss his new book Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life.

The musical guest will be Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. They’ll be playing songs of their 2023 album Weathervanes.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs tonight on ABC at 11:35 p.m. ET.
