Who’s hosting Saturday Night Live tonight, April 15?
By Matt Moore
Saturday Night Live returns tonight with another brand-new episode. So who will SNL fans see become the latest season 48 host?
Since returning from a late-winter hiatus, Saturday Night Live has been on a hot streak with hosts. Quinta Brunson and Molly Shannon delivered back-to-back impressive performances. The show has plenty of momentum heading into tonight’s episode.
So it will be up to first-time host Ana de Armas to deliver. The Ghosted star will host and be joined by musical guest Karol G.
De Armas will help make Saturday Night Live history in the process of hosting. Tonight’s episode marks the longest streak of solo female-hosted episodes since SNL began in 1975. And, it’s the first time both the host and musical guest are of Latin American descent.
What to expect from Ana de Armas as tonight’s Saturday Night Live host
Comedy and Ana de Armas aren’t necessarily a combination most people would put together. But, the actress has demonstrated she can handle a wide range of material. She should have no problem fitting in with Saturday Night Live‘s cast in tonight’s episode.
The Oscar-nominated actress has proven a willingness to take risks with her performances. From Blonde to the upcoming John Wick spinoff Ballerina, de Armas doesn’t exactly play it safe with her choices.
That may be why she agreed to host Saturday Night Live tonight. She gets the chance to show off yet another side of her acting talents with sketch comedy. A solid performance could increase interest in her action/romantic comedy Ghosted, which lands on Apple TV+ on April 21.
