Confirmed: James Corden’s Late Late Show finale episode date
James Corden will officially leave The Late Late Show this year after seven years of hosting the popular late-night talk show on CBS.
According to Variety, the British comedian will host his last episode of the show on April 27th.
The outlet has also reported that Tom Cruise will make a special appearance for Corden’s farewell for a “big sketch”.
A number of other big names are expected to join the host for the final episode.
Corden out, who’s in?
Once April 27th rolls around, things will look very different on the CBS network during Corden’s usual timeslot.
It was announced earlier this year that the network won’t continue to air The Late Late Show and will replace it. It seems the network have no hope anyone could replace what Corden has done for so many years. Since the Brit took over, he’s drawn in millions, most notably online, with an incredible selection of viral moments.
Until Corden makes his emotional exit, the comedian is making every minute count. Just last week, he invited Bad Bunny to join him for Carpool Karaoke. Kim Kardashian is also expected to make an appearance very soon as per reports.
It’s hardly news to anyone that CBS won’t go long and far to find a Corden replacement. Late night has failed to find an up-and-coming star who can compete with the ratings of Colbert, Letterman and Conan.
Only Greg Gutfeld on the Fox News network has managed to walk amongst the stars in the television category after only making his late-night debut in 2021. The political commentator now regularly competes with Stephen Colbert for the top spot on the monthly rating charts.
CBS to air @midnight
After The Late Late Show wraps up, audiences will become familiar with an old Comedy Central gameshow format called @midnight. CBS will air the show in Corden’s old timeslot, Deadline Hollywood has reported.
Corden has made no hints as to what he’ll do next but has told viewers he’ll be setting sail to his home in the United Kingdom.
