Appearing on The Tonight Show last night, James Corden told viewers that he doesn’t always feel welcome at celebrity events.

Corden is in his last year hosting the popular Late Late Show after a long run which started back in 2015.

After seeing it all in the glitz of the American television industry, the British personality is now set to return to the United Kingdom.

Speaking to CBS Mornings, Corden admitted: “We’re a long way from home, you know, in Los Angeles, and there’s people at home who are getting older, and we want our kids to know them and be around them.”

It seems that now may be the perfect time for Corden to find new television opportunities overseas. In recent months, he’s been an easy target for social media humiliation following a number of controversies.

The host has made no suggestion as to his plans once he returns home, but he has hinted at an interest in taking on further acting roles.

Corden just recently made a comeback to the big screen after appearing in Amazon’s hit series, Mammals.

The show currently sits at a 53% audience rating on the film review site, Rotten Tomatoes.

James Corden doesn’t feel comfortable at celebrity events

Alongside promoting his big role in Mammals, Corden made a surprise admission on attending celebrity events.

“Often Jimmy and I, we’ll be invited to things – and you get there and I always feel like I shouldn’t be there,” he told Tonight Show viewers.

Corden’s claim sure feels rather odd as the star seemingly never dodges an opportunity to walk the red carpet. It’s the showbiz effect…

In theory, it’s no surprise why the host often feels rather self-conscious. Whilst now an expert at the viral moment, Corden is hardly painted as a ‘man of the people’ amongst viewers. YouTube videos slandering James’s public image have amassed millions of views in recent years.

The Late Late Show host has faced backlash for his general off-air demeanour, with many having spoken out over their own worrying encounters with the star.

James Corden is expected to stay on as host of The Late Late Show until the summer of 2023. No replacement host has been announced as of yet.
