According to Jimmy Kimmel, former President Donald Trump’s “big announcement” was a big dud. The late-night TV host ripped Trump’s trading card collection during last night’s monologue.

Trump teased the announcement earlier this week. It led to wild speculation that he’d do anything from revealing his running mate to releasing more classified documents.

It turned out to be something no one expected: trading cards. Trump’s big announcement was that you can now pay $99 for his NFT collection of digital cards.

Unsurprisingly, Jimmy Kimmel wasted little time calling out the president on Thursday night. The comedian described the card collection as “pathetic” and “embarrassing.”

Jimmy Kimmel says ‘no f’ing thanks’ to Trump’s NFTs

Few things done by Donald Trump could genuinely amuse Jimmy Kimmel. However, the NFT collection of “Trump Cards” makes the comedian laugh. According to Kimmel, buying a digital trading card is the same as buying “nothing.”

Kimmel even has to cut in during a replay of Trump’s big announcement to remind the audience that Donald Trump used to be the president of the United States. Hawking NFTs doesn’t exactly sound like the usual second act for an ex-president. Kimmel goes so far as to call it the “most pathetic announcement of all time.”

Trump’s timing also confuses Kimmel. The NFT market isn’t exactly what it used to be, and the people behind crypto companies are under increased scrutiny. But for Trump, that means it’s the perfect time to join the party.

The comedian’s jokes aren’t just for Trump. The $99 price tag is $99 too much, says Kimmel. He went on to say that anyone who buys a Trump trading card will join a community of the “dumbest, most gullible Americans to ever walk the earth.”
