Jeopardy! fans have been watching closely as the current champion charges up the all-time leaderboard. So what happened on tonight’s episode?
There has been no lull following the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions. Instead, audiences have been captivated by a champion carrying a 20-game winning streak into Monday night’s game.
Who is the current Jeopardy! champion?
Cris Pannullo, a customer success operations manager from Ocean City, New Jersey, is the current Jeopardy! champion. Entering tonight’s game, he’s won 20 contests on the way to banking $710, 685.
His competition on Monday included Ben Hebert, a shipping manager from Chicago, Illinois, and Steph Martin, an editor, writer, and proofreader from Lakewood, Colorado.
Pannullo didn’t have any signs of rust in the “Jeopardy!” round. He jumped out to the lead with $11,000. Hebert sat in second with $3,200 followed by Martin with $1,400.
The returning champion only extended the lead during “Double Jeopardy!” play. Pannullo finished the round with $33,200. Hebert remained in second with $12,400, while Martin stayed in third with $600.
“Final Jeopardy!” became a formality with the game out of reach. Two out of three players answered correctly, including Pannullo. He added $4,221 to his score and remains the Jeopardy! champion.

Both Pannullo and Martin answered with the Berlin Wall. On the other hand, Hebert slipped up when he wrote down the Bastille as his response.
