The week kicked off with another brand new episode of Jeopardy! on Monday night. Do we have a new champion or is the current champ inching closer to the all-time record?

Jeopardy! fans are already flying high after coming off the Tournament of Champions. Amy Schneider took home the title, and now we’re back to regular gameplay.

Who is the current Jeopardy! champion?

Cris Pannullo, a customer success operations manager from Ocean City, New Jersey, entered tonight’s game as the current Jeopardy! champion. Over 15 games, he’s amassed $526,544. That’s already good for seventh all-time for winnings in regular play.

His competition on Monday included Xanni Brown, a Ph.D. student from New Haven, Connecticut, and Michael Harten, a dean of academics from Putnam, Connecticut.

Brown held the lead after “Jeopardy!” play finished. She totaled $8,600, followed by Pannullo with $5,400, and Harten with $1,600.

In “Double Jeopardy!,” Pannullo hit on both “Daily Double” clues on his way to banking $39,800. It gave him a lead over Brown ($19,400) and Harten ($5,600).

All three players answered “Final Jeopardy!” incorrectly. However, Pannullo made the smart play by wagering nothing. He remains the Jeopardy! champion with a 16-day total of $566,344.
