Loser of UK vs USA World Cup match “keeps James Corden” say fans
Before England faces the United States in an anticipated World Cup match today, fans have made some bold claims regarding the final result.
James Corden has trended for a good part of the day on Twitter, with fans across the two nations battling over not only the sport, but who will keep Late Late Show James Corden.
This comes after an ongoing anti-Corden trend online which has been growing for a number of months. For various reasons, Corden is hardly a popular figure on television.
The British media personality just recently came under fire for apparent abusive behaviour at a NYC restaurant. Whilst he has now privately apologised, online users refuse to forget other worrying claims about Corden’s off-screen behaviour.
Now, it seems the upcoming face-off between England and the United States will hold new meaning, with fans claiming the loser has to keep Corden.
One user wrote on Twitter: “Seen the stakes for tonight’s game with USA, from a few posts going around.. Apparently the loser keeps James Corden. That should be enough alone – to drive the lads onto victory!”
Another tweeted, “England and US fans have agreed whoever loses gets James Corden. Although I’ve not paid any attention to the wokefest hypocritical shite that is the World Cup, this one is important. Come on England. Please.”
Where’s all this come from?
Remember, whilst the majority of the slack Corden has faced has come from US viewers, there have been a number of instances where the television host has been far from popular in the United Kingdom.
Back in 2010, the Late Late Show host faced scrutiny after an on-air feud with Patrick Stewart at the Glamour Woman of The Year Awards. Corden unleashed a number of attacks on Stewart after the actor criticised his hosting abilities.
Despite all of this, Corden is still somewhat of an icon in a number of people’s eyes. After all, he is the man behind the popular British sitcom, Gavin and Stacey.
There are rumours that Corden will return to his homeland after announcing he’ll be stepping away from his late-night show at the end fo the year.
