Saturday Night Live tapped three very different performers to host the first three episodes of season 48. So what should SNL fans expect to see tonight on NBC?

Miles Teller, Brendan Gleeson, and Megan Thee Stallion each brought something different to the table when they took the stage in Studio 8H. Each one performed with enthusiasm, even if the material they were given was largely uneven.

Sadly, we won’t get to see who gets the next shot at the SNL spotlight on Saturday. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Instead, NBC will reair two different episodes tonight. At 10:00 p.m. ET, tune in to see an episode from 1996 hosted by actor Danny Aiello. But the real reason to watch is for musical guest Coolio as NBC honors the late rap legend.

Then, come back at 11:30 p.m. to revisit the season 48 premiere. Host Miles Teller did an admirable job with a boost from his Top Gun: Maverick costar Jon Hamm cameoing.

Who’s hosting Saturday Night Live next?

The good news is that Saturday Night Live fans won’t have to wait long for the next new episode. SNL has no intention of missing Halloween; the show will be back on October 29.

Rapper Jack Harlow has been selected to serve as both host and musical guest. It may be Harlow’s first time hosting, but it won’t be his first time on the show. He appeared as the musical guest back in March 2021.

Harlow as host and musical guest also makes for a special Saturday Night Live event. It will mark back-to-back episodes in which one performer pulls both host and musical guest duties. Harlow will follow Megan Thee Stallion, who had the honor last week.
