Saturday Night Live filled its calendar with three consecutive brand-new episodes in October. So what should SNL fans expect to see tonight on NBC?

Season 48 is a season of change for Studio 8H. A hefty chuck of the cast left ahead of the premiere, and changes behind the scenes will also impact the show. Through three episodes, the show has been uneven without a solid episode from start to finish.

Unfortunately, we won’t get the chance to see if that changes on Saturday. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Instead, NBC will reair the season 48 premiere from October 1. SNL fans can revisit the performance by Maverick: Top Gun star Miles Teller as host. The show also features the return of Kendrick Lamar as the musical guest.

If you tune in earlier in the night, you’ll be treated to another Saturday Night Live vintage episode at 10:00 p.m. From 1996, the episode will star host Danny Aiello along with musical guest Coolio as NBC honors the late rap icon.

When will Saturday Night Live return?

Longtime Saturday Night Live fans shouldn’t be surprised to see the show take a break after firing off three consecutive new episodes to start the season. Some time off is normal as the cast, crew, and staff recover from the frantic start.

Saturday Night Live will return on October 29 for its annual Halloween episode. Rapper Jack Harlow will serve as both the host and the musical guest.

It will be Harlow’s first time hosting SNL, and one that makes him part of show history. It will be the first time SNL airs back-to-back episodes with one host and musical guest. Megan Thee Stallion became the latest performer to earn the honor last week.
