Jimmy Kimmel Live! welcomes Abbot Elementary creator and star Quinta Brunson tonight. It comes just days after the pair made headlines at the Emmy Awards.

Brunson was on stage Sunday night to accept the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Moments before, Kimmel was dragged on stage by co-presenter Will Arnett. The bit was that Kimmel passed out at the bar after losing Outstanding Variety Talk Series to Last Week Tonight with John Oliver again.

Kimmel committed to the gag and stayed sprawled out on the Emmy stage even as Brunson came up to accept her award. The late-night TV host received backlash from many viewers on social media who felt he was stealing the spotlight from the Abbott Elementary creator.

However, Brunson mostly brushed off the joke and even thanked Kimmel for his kind words about her show in the past. The Emmy winner also reminded everyone that Jimmy Kimmel Live! gave her her first late-night TV spot.

Quinta Brunson joins Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight

Kimmel didn’t mention it all during his monologue on Tuesday night. But it will be hard to ignore the topic when Quinta Brunson visits the show on Wednesday night.

Brunson previewed her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! during his post-Emmys interview. She joked that she may punch Kimmel in the face after taking some time to think about what went down on the Emmys stage.

Ismael Cruz Córdova is the second guest on the schedule tonight. Fans can currently see the actor in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Prime TV.

Kane Brown will also be on the show for a second consecutive night. The country music star released his album Different Man on September 9.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
