By Matt Moore
August seemed to go by a little slower without many new episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. However, with things changing now that we’re in September, what should fans expect to see tonight on CBS?
Stephen Colbert did return from a nearly month-long hiatus on Tuesday night. He jumped right into the Trump classified documents scandal. The Late Show host wondered why the former president seemed to receive special treatment in the latest court ruling.
There’s a good chance Colbert has more to say about the story on Wednesday night. There will be a brand new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.
Colbert’s monologue last night didn’t get through everything he missed while away. So don’t be surprised if he continues to look back tonight while also tackling the day’s headlines.

The Late Show had plenty of eager fans awaiting its return. The show didn’t disappoint when it came to booking guests for the week, either.
First up tonight, Colbert will talk with Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil, and Nate Burleson. The trio co-host CBS Mornings. The show recently celebrated its first anniversary, so expect the good vibes to continue on The Late Show.
