August may be coming to an end, but Jeopardy! fans are looking for a new beginning. Namely, they’re eager to see some new episodes.

Jeopardy! hasn’t aired a new episode since the end of July. Last we saw, Luigi de Guzman became the new champion and won just over $23,000.

Unfortunately, we won’t get to see him defend his title on Monday night. There will not be a new episode of Jeopardy! tonight.

Instead, the game show continues to highlight games from the past season. Tune in tonight and you’ll see the April 15 episode. It features Mattea Roach, the tutor from Toronto, Ontario, Canada who went on to win  $560,983.

When does Jeopardy! return with brand new episodes?

There is good news on the horizon for Jeopardy! fans. The summer of reruns is almost over and when it is, we’ll be back to new shows.

Jeopardy! season 39 premieres on September 12. Luigi de Guzman will be invited back to defend his title against two new challengers.

Also invited back for the new season are Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik. The duo will continue to split hosting duties beginning this fall. While some fans hoped that one permanent host would be named, it turns out two is better than one.
