Jay Leno meets with Joe Biden amid calls for Tonight Show hosting return
Joe Biden made a surprise appearance on Jay Leno’s Garage this week. The former Tonight Show host has been a close friend of the President for some time, even backing the Democrat in the 2020 Presidential race.
Biden told reporters after the taping that the two had driven his old Corvette in a “fun” segment.
“We talked about how electric cars are going to change the nature of our environment in the United States,” he revealed.
Back in 2020, Leno told The Hill he was fully behind Biden during the 2020 Presidential election, labeling the president “a decent man”.
“People like Joe because he’s got a good character”.
Leno and Biden also took a Ford F-150 Lightning for a spin, a popular electric model for the car company.
This isn’t the first time Biden has appeared on Leno’s hit CNBC show. Back in 2016, the president appeared in a viral segment where he famously did a burnout in a 67 Corvette Stingray.
It’s no surprise why Biden was keen on showcasing the future of electric cars during his recent appearance on CNBC. In June, The White House revealed that the administration planned to “build out the first-ever national network of 500,000 electric vehicle chargers”, according to a released fact sheet.
Calls for Jay Leno to return to Tonight Show
Jay Leno’s episode with Biden comes after calls for the former Tonight Show host to return to late night.
Many have taken to social media, hoping to see Leno replace Fallon after reports NBC may consider a major shakeup in the timeslot.
We can expect President Joe Biden’s appearance on Jay Leno’s Garage to air this Wednesday on CNBC. This won’t be one to miss.
