Wednesday night brought with it another brand new Jeopardy! episode. It also gave the returning champion another chance to defend their title.

Jeopardy! fans are still getting used to watching the show without Ryan Long. The previous champion’s 15-day streak was snapped by the current champion.

Who is the current Jeopardy! champion?

Eric Ahasic, a meteorologist from Minneapolis, Minnesota, is the current Jeopardy! champion. In two games entering Wednesday night, he’s banked $40,001.

His competition tonight included Tessa Matsuzaki, a graphic designer from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and Maggie Sharpe, a high school math teacher from Los Angeles, California.

Ahasic’s experience proved advantageous in the “Jeopardy!” round. He led with $6,600, followed by Matsuzaki with $3,800, and Sharpe with $800.

The champ ran away with the game in “Double Jeopardy!.” Going a perfect 13-for-13, Ahasic earned $30,600. Matsuzaki remained in second with $11,800 and Sharpe sat in third with $3,600.

Ahasic could coast in “Final Jeopardy!” tonight. He still answered correctly, adding $5,000 to his total on the way to remaining the Jeopardy! champion. He’s now won $75,601.
