Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, May 31?
By Matt Moore
The Memorial Day holiday is over, meaning millions of people were back to work on Tuesday. Does that mean The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will also return with a new episode?
Monday saw repeats across the board on late-night TV. Hosts from Jimmy Kimmel to Jimmy Fallon all took the day off, with many planning on a week-long break.
That is the case for Stephen Colbert, too. There will not be a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.
Instead, CBS will reair the May 18 episode. Interested fans can get another look at Colbert with his guests Anthony Blinken and TWICE.
The Late Show won’t be back at all this week. It joins shows like Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and The Late Late Show with James Corden by taking a break.
What to watch instead of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight
If you’d rather spend your night catching up on recent Colbert highlights, you have options. You can check out the Late Show content on Paramount+ or scroll through the show’s official YouTube channel. And don’t forget that the CBS late-night show has its own companion podcast.
Late-night fans looking for something a little more current are in luck. Jimmy Kimmel Live! will air a brand new episode tonight at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
Jimmy Kimmel will interview comedian and actor Bill Burr. Burr has a stand-up tour to promote, as well as his involvement in an upcoming Netflix comedy special.
Obi-Wan Kenobi star Moses Ingram will also be on the show. The actress followed up her critically acclaimed role in The Queen’s Gambit by playing Reva Sevander in the new Disney+ series.
The musical guest will be television personality and RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars winner Trixie Mattel with Shakey Graves. Expect to hear the song “This Town.”
