A brand new episode of Jeopardy! meant another chance for Mattea Roach to extend her winning streak. So, how did the defending champion do tonight?
Roach put her 20-game winning streak on the line on Tuesday night. The tutor from Toronto, Ontario, Canada has career winnings totaling $476,985.
Tonight, her competition included Enver Casimir, a history teacher from Albany, California, and Angela Kissner, an educational consultant & tutor from Akron, Ohio.
Who won Jeopardy! tonight?
It was a close game after the “Jeopardy!” round. Mattea Roach sat in the driver’s seat with $7,800. Enver Casimir was close behind with $6,600, while Angela Kissner earned $200.
However, Roach pulled away from the other contestants during the “Double Jeopardy!” round. After two sets of clues, she had $24,600. Casimir remained in second with $9,800. Meanwhile, Kissner never got rolling and wound up with $600.
Once again, “Final Jeopardy!” didn’t matter to Roach as she had the game wrapped up before the clue. Still, she answered correctly and added $4,999 to her total. She has now won $506,584.

Two out of three players answered tonight’s “Final Jeopardy!” correctly. Here’s the clue in the category “National Anthems”:

Mattea Roach and Enver Casimir both came up with the correct response. Angela Kissner incorrectly wrote down “What is God Save the Queen?” as her response.
