Lizzo made her SNL debut yesterday, using her monologue to address a number of online rumours, including one speculating a possible pregnancy.

The singer told viewers last night: “I’ve read a lot of gossip online”. She continued, “I even heard a rumour that I’m pregnant with Chris Evans’ baby!”

Lizzo then explained the source of the online speculation, admitting to starting the rumour herself on TikTok. To set the record straight, we can confirm Lizzo is not pregnant with Chris Evans’ baby. We think.

Of course, in SNL tradition, the singer acted in a number of sketches throughout the episode. One included Lizzo joining a symphony orchestra, showing off her popular flautist skills. When Lizzo plays the flute, no one is complaining.

The singer also performed two new tracks from her upcoming EP due to be released this summer. Speaking to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe on the album, Lizzo said: “I feel like the album is an incredible body of music, which was super important to me.”

“I wanted to create good [expletive] music that actually was cohesive, and meaningful, and rich and lush, it could be a grower, it could be a shower. I don’t care, it’s good. Once people discover it, it’s going to make them feel good and them know what’s up”, she added.

Viewers speculate use of lip sinc during Lizzo SNL performance

Already, SNL viewers have suspected that SNL could have used lip sinc during Lizzo’s performance of “Special” during the show.

Fan uploaded videos on Twitter show the singer move her mouth from the microphone as her voice remains audible singing the remaining lyrics. Others have claimed that the production were using backing tracks to recreate the single’s original sound.
