Jeopardy! champions have watched Mattea Roach cash in on two big paydays. Was the returning champion able to make it three in a row tonight?
Roach, a tutor from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, amassed a two-day total of $70,801. She dominated Wednesday night’s game and looked to do the same on Thursday.
Standing in her way was Reagan White, a college student from Manahawkin, New Jersey, and Mike Janela, a sportscaster from Astoria, New York.
Who won Jeopardy! tonight?
Mattea Roach used her experience to her advantage in the “Jeopardy!” round, dominating the buzzer. She answered 13 out of 14 questions correctly and banked $6,600. Reagan White wasn’t too far behind at $2,400 while Mike Janela struggled and finished with -$600.
White managed to buzz in on more questions during “Double Jeopardy!”. However, Roach hit on a “Daily Double” and managed to finish the second round in the lead with $16,400. White ended up with $11,600. Meanwhile, Janela never got any momentum, ending the round with $1,800.
“Final Jeopardy!” stumped all three contestants. White swung for the fences and bet everything only to see it backfire. Roach’s wager was more conservative, giving her the win in tonight’s game.
