After back-to-back victories, Jeopardy! champion Margaret Shelton returned to defend her title. Here’s how Thursday night’s episode turned out.
Shelton, a homemaker from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, came into Thursday’s game with cash winnings totaling $41,000. Both of her wins came in a similar fashion with Shelton staying in or near the lead for most of the game.
Tonight, she squared off against two new opponents. Joining Jeopardy! were Louis Dellaperuta, an EMT from Cranston, Rhode Island, and Ryan Pressman, a musician from Canoga Park, California.
Who won Jeopardy! tonight?
After the “Jeopardy!” round, Ryan Pressman found himself in the lead with $5,200. Margaret Shelton was in second with $4,600, followed by Louis Dellaperuta with $3,800.
Pressman maintained that lead after “Double Jeopardy!,” totaling $14,800 going into the final round. Shelton remained in second at $8,600 and held a slight lead over Dellaperuta, who finished the round with $8,200.
However, Pressman failed to answer “Final Jeopardy!” correctly. That left the door open for Shelton and the returning champion made the most of the opportunity. Her correct answer and savvy wager gave her the win over Dellaperuta by a mere $1,000.
Shelton finished with $17,200. That brought her three-day total to $58,200.
What was tonight’s Final Jeopardy! question?
