Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, February 5, 2022?
By Matt Moore
After a holiday hiatus, Saturday Night Live has provided fans with brand new episodes over the past three weeks. So what should SNL fans expect to see tonight?
Season 47 rolled into 2022 back on January 15 with host Ariana DeBose. She was followed by SNL alum Will Forte and Spider-Man: No Way Home star Willem Dafoe. The show seems to be in a pretty good groove in the new year.
Unfortunately, that momentum won’t get a chance to continue on Saturday. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.
NBC will air primetime coverage of the 2022 Winter Olympics. The network’s Olympic coverage will put all of its late-night TV show on hiatus through the closing ceremonies, scheduled for February 20.
SNL will return on February 26. Former writer John Mulaney will host for the fifth time. LCD Soundsystem will serve as the musical guest.
Revisit classic Saturday Night Live Olympic sketches
On the bright side, there are several ways SNL fans can still get their sketch comedy fix without a new episode. Peacock subscribers have access to every episode dating back to season 1.
SNL’s official YouTube channel also houses monologues, fan-favorite bits, and cut for time sketches not seen on air. It’s where fans can watch some classic Winter Olympic sketches like these:
