Niall Horan guest hosts Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight, August 24
By Matt Moore
Tonight, Niall Horan takes on one of the biggest challenges of his career: hosting a late-night TV show. The talented singer will become the latest guest host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
Of course, Horan is no stranger to performing. The 27-year-old has been in the spotlight since 2010 thanks to his band One Direction and its rise on The X Factor.
Outside of One Direction, Horan has released two solo studio albums. The most recent, Heartbreak Weather, went live back in March 2020 to critical and commercial success.
That experience in front of sold-out arenas and thousands of adoring fans may come in handy tonight. Horan will be front and center as guest host of Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
Does Niall Horan have any acting or comedy experience?
It’s one thing to sing your songs or a song you’ve rehearsed thousands of times. It’s another thing to get on television and tell jokes to an audience of millions. But that’s the challenge facing Niall Horan tonight.
Before Jimmy Kimmel Live!, it’s hard to see anything on Horan’s resume that could prepare for this specific role. He’s only ever appeared as himself or with his One Direction bandmates on TV, never as a character. However, he’s popped up in a Saturday Night Live sketch and done some bits with James Corden.
Maybe he’ll have to rely on his countless hours spent as a late-night TV guest for an idea of what to expect. He could also call up Harry Styles for advice, considering Styles successfully pulled off host and musical guest during a recent Saturday Night Live episode.
Who’s on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with Niall Horan tonight?
First, Niall Horan will interview Lizzo. The singer recently released the single “Rumors” featuring Cardi B. Expect to get some insight regarding her upcoming album.
Then, Ted Lasso star Cristo Fernandez joins the shows. Fans will recognize him as Mr. Football Is Life Himself, Dani Rojas.
The Jonas Brothers are also on the schedule tonight. Thanks to a sneak peek, we know that Horan and the Brothers will hit the links together for a round of golf.
Kane Brown serves as musical guest. He’s released multiple singles in 2021 including “Famous Friends” and “Memory.”
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs tonight at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
