Summer has officially started and things are expected to heat up all around the entertainment world. Late night TV is no different and the season can get off to a hot start with a brand new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The Late Show is coming off a huge week. Stephen Colbert welcomed a live audience back to the Ed Sullivan Theater for the first time in over a year. It was clear that Colbert fed off the audience’s energy, delivering a week of top-notch shows.
Colbert will look to keep that momentum going on Monday. There will be a brand new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.
As always, a number of stories from the weekend could inspire Colbert’s monologues. Reports on Donald Trump’s interest in Speaker of the House, a wrap-up of President Joe Biden’s trip abroad, and Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s Twitter feud with Rep. Jim Jordan could all be on the table.
Who’s on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight?
Firs up, Stephen Colbert will chat with actor Andrew Garfield. There remains a lot of buzz around Garfield as rumors continue to swirl that he’ll join Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Colbert may ask but don’t expect any real answer from Garfield on the subject.
Instead, the actor could discuss one of several projects he’s definitely involved in. His film Mainstream was released last month. Next, he’ll appear alongside Jessica Chastain in The Eyes of Tammy Fay about televangelists Tammy Faye Bakker and Jim Bakker. Garfield also stars in Tick, Tick…Boom!, the directorial debut of Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Then, Lorde joins The Late Show. The singer just announced a new tour in support of her forthcoming album Solar Power (Aug. 20). She’ll go one-on-one with Colbert for an interview.
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs tonight at 11:35 p.m. ET on CBS.
