Jimmy Kimmel says goodbye to Donald Trump’s blog
By Matt Moore
Former President Donald Trump announced that he was shutting down his blog “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” after operating for roughly a month. Jimmy Kimmel had late night TV’s honor of saying goodbye to the blog.
Trump launched the blog after leaving office and finding himself banned from major social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. The blog came nowhere close to the popularity of Trump’s tweets despite covering many of the same gripes and conspiracies from the former president.
Now, just 29 days after going live, he shuttered “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump.” According to reports, the blog’s lack of hits and the ridicule Trump received influenced the decision.
Jimmy Kimmel always jumps on a story involving a Donald Trump failure. The late night host was more than happy to report on the demise of Trump’s blog during his monologue:
Jimmy Kimmel has an idea of what Donald Trump will do next
The end of Donald Trump’s blog is more bad news for the former president following another embarrassing report released over the weekend. According to journalist Maggie Haberman, Trump believes an election audit will reinstate him as president by August.
Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue on Tuesday night recapped that story, calling it another example of Trump’s absurd conspiracy theories. Now, Trump has one less way to defend himself after abandoning his blog.
So what will Trump do next? Kimmel offers one possibility, suggesting that Trump will resort to leaving notes at Mar-a-Lago’s omelet station.
Jimmy Kimmel Live! fans may recall that the late night host invested some of his time into exploring Trump’s website. Kimmel’s early review of the site hinted that it wouldn’t exactly take the internet by storm. Now, what was once the main attraction instead joins the long list of failed ventures from the mind of Donald J. Trump.
