George W. Bush returns to Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight
By Matt Moore
Former President George W. Bush will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight. The 43rd president last visited the ABC late night show in 2017.
In a wide-ranging interview, Kimmel and Bush discussed President Donald Trump’s inauguration, presidential impressions, UFOs, art, and more. President Bush was on the show to promote his collection of paintings Portraits of Courage.
The interviews received mixed reviews at the time. Some were glad to see President Bush back in the spotlight if only to remind them how abnormal President Trump behaved. Others criticized Kimmel for not pressing President Bush on Trump or his own legacy.
We’ll see what lessons, if any, Kimmel learned when he interviews George W. Bush again tonight. The former president will be on to promote his new book of paintings, Out of Many, One featuring portraits and profiles of immigrants.
Hopefully, Kimmel will get W to open up about the state of the Republican Party after four years of Donald Trump in the White House. Other topics that could come up include Bush’s relationship with President Joe Biden, the country’s current immigration crisis, the pandemic response by the federal government.
