After back-to-back new episodes, Saturday Night Live fans are hoping tonight makes it three in a row. What should audiences expect to see on NBC?

Following a month-long hiatus, SNL returned with a new episode on March 27. Fan-favorite and alum Maya Rudolph hosted. She was followed by Oscar-nominated actor Daniel Kaluuya, who proved he’s much more than just a dramatic actor in his SNL debut.

The show will try to keep that momentum going this week with another first-time host. There will be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Promising Young Woman star Carey Mulligan is the host. The musical guest is Kid Cudi, whose album Man on the Moon III: The Chosen was released late last year. Check out our episode preview right here to see why Mulligan and Cudi should surprise audiences tonight.

With Mulligan as the host, it’s not only back-to-back weeks with a first-time host but back-to-back weeks featuring an Academy Award nominee. Kaluuya was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Judas and the Black Messiah. Mulligan is nominated for Best Actress for her role in Promising Young Woman.

Sketch comedy is not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Carey Mulligan. But the actress could surprise a lot of people tonight. She is an experienced stage performer with some dark comedy credits to her name. Don’t be surprised if she’s a natural on SNL.
