Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, March 27?
By Matt Moore
It has been a month since Saturday Night Live aired a new episode. Fans are hoping that tonight is the night that finally changes.
Saturday Night Live audiences are used to seeing the show take a few weeks off here and there during a season. Expecting the cast, crew, and staff to produce 20+ consecutive live comedy shows would be asking a bit much.
But fans asking for a new episode tonight will get their wish. There will be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight on NBC.
Former cast member Maya Rudolph returns to host for the second time. She’ll be joined by musical guest Jack Harlow in support of his album Thats What They All Say. Check out our episode preview right here to see why tonight’s episode should be one of the season’s best.
Rudolph has appeared in half the episodes this season as Vice President Kamala Harris. Her interpretation of the politician has already won Rudolph an Emmy and there is reason to believe that tonight’s show could be one of the best of season 46.
How to watch Saturday Night Live
SNL fans love Maya Rudolph for what she did as a cast member and what she’s done in cameo appearances beyond just playing Kamala Harris over the years. Her return to the spotlight as host for the first time since 2012 is well-deserved.
Pandemic protocols have made cameos a little trickier this season, outside of Rudolph, Jim Carrey, and Alec Baldwin acting as de facto cast members during the first few episodes. Still, don’t be surprised if someone special shows up tonight to support Rudolph. Maybe Tina Fey will return the favor?
Regardless, it should be a great episode tonight. Fans have been patiently waiting for SNL to return and now it’s here. These are the details you need to know:
