Late night TV is going all-in on comedy this week. Some of the biggest names in comedy will be featured on fan-favorite late night shows.

The end of 2020 and the start of 2021 saw a high volume of politically-minded late night guests. Politicians, pundits, and journalists were prominently featured on The Late Show with Stephen ColbertLate Night with Seth MeyersJimmy Kimmel Live!, and more. And while late night hasn’t completely moved away from politics, this week will see the spotlight much more on the entertainment industry.

It comes as a slew of new television shows and movies are set to hit theaters, network television, and streaming services. The pandemic continues to impact how projects are released but the content is still finding its way to eager audiences around the world.

So with that being said, let’s take a look at who will be coming to late night TV this week. Keep reading for Last Night On’s picks for the five guests fans should be most excited to see.

Late night TV guests to watch: Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler adds late night TV to her already busy schedule. You can see the actress on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, March 8.

Poehler is coming off another successful turn as co-host of the Golden Globes. Despite the unusual circumstances, Poehler and Tina Fey made the most of the virtual award show by bringing their trademark wit and humor to the broadcast.

She’ll check in with her former Saturday Night Live castmate Jimmy Fallon to promote her new film Moxie. Poehler not only stars in the comedy/drama but also directed the movie based on the novel by Jennifer Mathieu. It was released on Netflix on March 3.

Late night TV guests to watch: Seth Rogen

Seth Rogen also returns to late night TV. The actor is back on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, March 8.

Rogen has had a pretty busy year despite the pandemic, making plenty of headlines outside of television and movie. The internet has been fascinated with his pottery hobby, he’s been in a public back-and-forth with politicians like Senator Ted Cruz, and he recently launched his own marijuana line called Houseplant.

Expect all that to come up when Rogen chats with Jimmy Kimmel. The actor may also look to promote Invincible, the animated superhero show he stars in alongside Steven Yeun and J.K. Simmons. It premieres on Amazon Prime Video on March 26.

Late night TV guests to watch: Tracy Morgan

The always entertaining and always unpredictable Tracy Morgan checks in with The Late Late Show with James Corden this week. See the comedian’s interview on Tuesday, March 9.

Whether it is on ConanThe Tonight Show, or any other late night TV show, Morgan is one of the best guests around. No one sounds like or thinks like Morgan and the actor reminds everyone of that anytime he’s on screen.

Morgan will talk with James Corden about his role in Coming 2 America, the sequel to Eddie Murphy’s 1988 classic. Murphy’s influence on Morgan is well-documented and Morgan even made a special appearance when Murphy returned to Saturday Night Live last season.

Late night TV guests to watch: Kathryn Hahn

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest villain checks in with late night TV this week. Catch WandaVision‘s Kathryn Hahn on A Little Late with Lilly Singh on Tuesday, March 9.

Few people would have Hahn (Step BrothersBad Moms) pegged as a superhero villain before she crushed it as Agnes/Agatha Harkness on WandaVision. But the Marvel Cinematic Universe has surprised fans before with its casting.

WandaVision may have wrapped up last week but that doesn’t mean Hahn is done in the MCU. On A Little Late, expect her to reflect on the experience of joining the Marvel world and perhaps tease her character’s future.

Late night TV guests to watch: Trevor Noah

Fans are in for another late night TV crossover this week. The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah will be on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Wednesday, March 10.

In addition to The Daily Show, Noah’s appearance will also help plug Coming 2 America. Noah has a role as a Zamunda News Network anchor in the Eddie Murphy comedy.

Noah will be on to build anticipation for his role as host of the 63rd Grammy Awards. The biggest night in music airs Sunday, March 14 on CBS and Paramount+. Noah and Corden could discuss the challenges with hosting an award show, especially in times like these.
