Elizabeth Olsen moves through late night history in WandaVision parody

WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen was sent on a trip through Tonight Show history last night. The parody from Jimmy Fallon even featured its own twist ending.
WandaVision will release its finale tomorrow, bringing an end to one of television’s biggest hits. The success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe entry isn’t all that surprising considering the MCU’s popularity and track record.
But what has been a nice surprise is how well-received the show’s format has been among audiences. The sitcom satires left some scratching their heads but now that the series has launched, the storytelling technique has been praised by fans and critics alike.
A parody of WandaVision‘s parodies was inevitable. And nobody in late night does TV parody like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Elizabeth Olsen was a guest last night but not before she had to escape Jimmy Fallon’s own twisted version of reality. Check out the video below:
Elizabeth Olsen’s WandaVision continues to take over late night television
“FallonVision” takes Elizabeth Olsen and viewers at home on a quick trip through The Tonight Show history. Fallon does a nice job of replicating the look and sound of hosts over the past 50 years or so. But unsurprisingly, it is Olsen who really shines here as his guest.
In a role reversal, it is Olsen who realizes that things are out of sorts. After initially going along with the facade, Olsen realizes that Fallon is living in an alternate reality where the pandemic never hit and his Tonight Show theater is full of cheering audience members. The one constant? It was Agatha all along.
The parody comes as WandaVision has taken over late night television since its launch and especially so this week. Stars Kat Dennings and Teyonah Parris made late night appearances in the past. This week. Olsen, Paul Bettany, Kathryn Hahn, and Randall Park are all on the schedule. If this is Olsen’s last late night appearance in support of WandaVision, she’s going out on a high note.
