Jimmy Kimmel investigates: Is Joe Biden really Donald Trump?

Donald Trump may be gone from office but the conspiracy theories about the former president keep coming. Jimmy Kimmel addressed two of the biggest ones in his monologue last night.

It has been well-documented that a conspiracy theory played a large part in motivating Trump supporters to attack the Captiol on Jan. 6. False information suggested that the election had been stolen and that Vice President Mike Pence had the power to overturn the results.

The attack put a bigger spotlight on QAnon and its followers. The group was back in the news this week after word spread that Donald Trump would return to Washington, D.C. on March 4 to be inaugurated. This was, of course, nonsense.

Trump’s return to power yesterday isn’t the craziest conspiracy theory floating around right now. Jimmy Kimmel explained last night, covering the inauguration theory while entertaining one of the most absurd premises imaginable:

Reports that there could be more violence in Washington on March 4 caused the House session to be canceled. In the end, that was the extent of the disruption caused by another wild conspiracy theory that wasn’t based in reality.

Kimmel joked that maybe these QAnon message boards can’t be trusted after all. And while a surprise March inauguration for Donald Trump was never going to happen, Kimmel is more than happy to report it if it means reminding himself and everyone else that Trump is no longer the president.

The late night comedian even goes so far as to entertain an insane theory that President Joe Biden is actually Donald Trump wearing a mask, à la the movie Face/Off. But if that is the case, Kimmel has one question: where is Trump hiding all the extra weight??

The more these conspiracy theories pop up and fail to materialize, the more Jimmy Kimmel gets to gloat about Donald Trump losing the election. He’s more than happy to show how crazy some of Trump’s supporters sound as a way to show his audience how bad things could have been.
