Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, December 29?

What should The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fans expect to see tonight on CBS?
It’s just about time to close the book on 2020. Late night television fans looking to end the year on a high note may be hoping that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert can help.
The turn of the calendar to 2021 won’t exactly wipe the slate clean and undo what has happened in 2020. But The Late Show is poised to change and for the better, says Stephen Colbert. The host has made it clear he’s ready to move on from covering President Donald Trump.
This will undoubtedly change the tone of The Late Show and what it wants to be moving forward. Just don’t expect to see that change start tonight.
There will not be a new episode of The Late Show tonight. Instead, CBS will reair the Dec. 17 episode featuring Colbert’s interview with President-elect Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden.
It’s an interview worth revisiting if you missed it the first time around or are looking for something to watch tonight. Colbert is often at his best as an interviewer when the spotlight is brightest and his guests are of the magnitude of the Bidens.
With New Year’s Day coming up, don’t expect to see Colbert back in the studio anytime soon. This is more than just a long weekend as the CBS late night show enjoys a much-deserved break before coming back in 2021.
